The 15th Edition of the Seville Bienal 2008


 

kitchen.jpgThe 15th Bienal Seville Flamenco Festival that will be held from 10th of September to the 11th of October will host 54 different performances, 23 of which are premières, only 2 of them having premiered outside Spain before.

Under the title "Las Músicas del Flamenco" the 2008 festival aims to "set flamenco culture around a musical discourse where styles and trends coexist in time and space, where diversity means creative wealth and that eases dialogue with other artistic discourses".

The whole festival will be distributed in 8 cycles : "Movimientos", "El futuro de lo jondo", "Clásicos del siglo XXI", "Variaciones", "Flamencos y otras aves", "El flamenco que viene", "Flamenco para niños" and "Al son de las estrellas".

During this 15th Edition, the artists will perform in 6 different venues, including El Teatro Maestranza, Teatro Lope de Vega, Teatro Central, Hotel Triana, Teatro Alameda, Auditorio Rocío Jurado .

The 2008 programme features well-known artists such as Manolo Sanlúcar, José Mercé, Sara Baras, Carmen Linares, Estrella Morente, Cañizares, Arcángel, Isabel Bayón, Rafaela Carrasco, María Pagés, Diego Amador, Diego Carrasco, among many others.
