Real Alcázar

The Real Alcázar Palace is one of Seville's must sees. It was first built in 913 and has been complemented with lots of different architectural styles ever since. You are more then welcome to have a walk in the beautiful gardens of the Alcázar. Nowadays, the palace is used as the official residence of the Kings whenever they come to visit the city.

Cathedral and Giralda

The Cathedral is the biggest gothic monument in the world. It is supposed to be hosting the remains of Christopher Columbus.
The Giralda was the minaret of Seville's old mosque during the 12th century. Don't hesitate to climb on its top; you'll get to see an incredible panoramic view at Seville from its 97 meters height (318 feet tall).

Plaza de España

Plaza de España

The Plaza de España was built by Aníbal González for the 1929 Hispanic-American exhibition. Its circular shape symbolizes Spain holding its old colonies in its arms, the place is facing the Guadalquivir as to symbolize the way leading to the American continent. It is located in the María Luisa's park.

Parque de María Luisa

This garden was offered to the city of Seville in 1893 by the infant María Luisa Fernanda. The park was then changed by the French architect Forestier for the 1929 Hispanic-American exhibition. The main interests of the site are: the Pabellón Real, the Pabellón Neo-Mudéjar and the Pabellón Renacentista. Don't hesitate to go for a walk in that lovely and quiet park.

Plaza de Toro La Maestranza

The Plaza de Toros of Seville is considered to be one of the finest in Spain and is one of the oldest and most important in the world. The tour visits the museum which traces the sport's history from the 18th century to present day. You get to see the bullring which can accommodate up to 14,000 people, the infirmary, the bullfighters' Chapel and the horses patio.

  • Price: 6 €
  • Concession: 4€ for retired, students, big family. 2.50€ for childrens between 6 and 11 and childrens in High School.
  • Opening hours in Winter (November - April): Every day: 9:30-19, except on bullfighting days until 15:00
  • Opening hours in Summer (May - October): Every day: 9:30-20, except on bullfighting days until 15:00
  • Entrance by guided tour only (in English and Spanish), every 20 minutes and the visit lasts 45 minutes

Torre del Oro

This tower, lying by the Guadalquivir River, is supposed to be named the Golden Tower after the golden tiles that cover its dome. Built during the 12th century, it was first a military tower used for preventing enemies' ships from entering the city.
Today the tower is a naval museum which outlines the naval history of Seville and the importance of its river.

Casa de Pilatos

This palace is known for being a typical andalusian palace, it is mixed with gothic; italian and mudejar styles.

Fábrica de Tabaco

It currently hosts Seville's University. Close to the main building are 2 smaller ones: the chapel which is still used for the same purpose and a prison which is today one of Seville?s University departments. This 15th century building of baroque style, which used to be the main manufacture in Europe, is a matter of highly importance in the mythical Prosper Merimée's novel "Carmen" and in the French Carmen's Opera.

Hospital de la Caridad

This hospital is a clear example of the Spanish baroque art. It was built during the 15th century and was aimed to helping sick and homeless people but also gave those condemned to death the right to a burial. It is now a home for the elderly.

Museo de Bellas Artes

One of the Seville's main art galleries where you can admire canvas from great painters such as El Greco, Pacheco, Velazquez or Alonso Cano, among others. It also hosts temporal exhibitions.

  • Price: 1,50€. Free for EU residents.
  • Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday: 3:00-20:30. Sunday and bank holidays: 9:30-14:30
  • Opened on August the 15th and the 16th, October the 11th and the 12nd, November the 1st, December the 6th and the 8th.

Museo de Artes y Costumbres populares

This museum is located inside the Mudejar pavilion of the 1929 Exhibition. It holds in its 5496 square meters permanent and temporary exhibitions dedicated to the traditional art of Andalusia.

  • Opened on August 15th and 16th, October 11th and 12nd, November 1st, December 6th and 8th.

Museo del Baile Flamenco

This building is an institution to flamenco dance, inside you will be able to submerge yourself in this wonderful facet of andalusian culture.
The museum opened its doors to the public in April 2006 and was masterminded by the renowned flamenco dancer, Cristina Hoyos, who was born, and grew up in the very same streets where the museum now stands.

Palacio de la Condesa de Lebrija

The Lebrija Palace is one of the best houses in Seville. Its 580 square meters of roman mosaics, floor and walls have converted this personal collection into one of the most important of the world.
